Juried Colorado jewelry artists show in Golden
Wrap Up Jewelry from Colorado Artists for the Holidays. Golden Fine Arts Festival Artists Featured in Downtown Golden
GOLDEN, CO.- On the heels of the successful 17th annual Golden Fine Arts Festival - ranked 50th in the nation by Sunshine Magazine — six Colorado jewelry artists will be offering their work for sale in historic downtown Golden.
Last-minute shoppers can make one stop in downtown Golden and wrap up unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry for the holidays. A trip to this historic district requires parking only once while visiting independently owned boutiques and galleries.
“We had a remarkable group of jewelry artists showing at the 2007 Golden Fine Arts Festival, and we are proud to continue showing their work throughout the year in Golden,” said Nancy Taylor Mason, marketing chair for the festival.
Currently, featured artists include:
- Gene Bauer Goldsmith, Golden artist - Gene specializes in custom designed jewelry in gold, platinum and gemstones, combining innovative style with master craftsmanship. Gene has received numerous awards at the Golden Fine Arts Festival, including second place in jewelry in 2007 and 2004, and first place in 2006.
- Candice Kiesow, Denver artist - A multimedia artist working in pottery, jewelry and printmaking, Candice forms each piece of jewelry by hand using fine silver and sterling silver components with gold overlays. She was awarded first place in jewelry at the 2007 Golden Fine Arts Festival.
- Katie Brassell and Richard Hart, Lakewood artists - Between the two, they have been creating jewelry for 43 years. Collaborating on creations, their individual strengths complement each other in precious metal-smithing, valuable stones and bezel work.
- Michelene Berkey, Evergreen artist - Using sterling silver, 14k gold, 18k gold and copper, she exacts surface embellishment to create beautiful combinations with fresh water pearls, ethnic beads and gemstones.
- Rocky Stiers, Nederland artist - Self taught in the arts of hand fabrication, he designs and creates sterling silver jewelry. He has received numerous awards including the Josephine Schwartz Award for jewelry design.
Jewelry by these artists is currently available for sale at the following locations:

- Baby Doe’s Clothing, 1116 Washington Avenue;
- Foothills Art Center, 809 15 th Street (at Washington Avenue).
